My Hometown and Summer Vacation
My home town, Seoul is the capital city in South Korea. Seoul is a big city with about 10,000,000 residents. When I use the public transportation it is always crowded. Seoul has many attractions. One of these is the 'Han river'. The Han river flows in the center of Seoul. Many people come to this place for sports activity or on dates. 'Namsan' is a popular place for people, because it has a fantastic night view. People can see the bright shining city of Seoul. Most visitors ride the cable car and walk to the tower. Seoul has several beautiful ancient palaces such as Gyeongbokgung, Gyeonghuigung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Changdeokgung. This place is visited by many tourists with guides. 'Myeong-dong' is the famous shopping streets in Seoul. The Japanese visit Myeong Dong the most. In addition, there are many attractions in Seoul such as Insadong and the 63 building.
This summer I stayed in Gyeong-ju, because I had to prepare my police officer test for next year. My major professors created a special program for students to prepare for the exam. I was afraid when I heard the name of the program. The program name was 'sparta training'. Twenty students participated in this program, but only half of them participated to the end. It started at 08:00 am and ended at 06:00 pm. Sitting at a desk, I looked at the internet lecture for a long time. At first, it was very hard and boring to have the same schedule everyday. I adapted, it became better than before. I usually took a nap for the rest time. On weekends, I usually went downtown or walked at AnapJi or Cheomseong dae with friends. This program has been a great help in preparing for the exam.
Gyeongju has many attractions. Anapji, Cheomseongdae and the Silla royalty, as well as relics of that time in the Gyeongju Museum. Anapji is a famous man-made lake in Gyeongju. Anapji night view is really famous and people admire the beauty of the place and take pictures. Cheomseongdae is the oldest observatory in the East. lt is a Korean national treasure, it was built by the Queen of Silla. Gyeongju National Museum is a good culture space for people. lt informs the people about Silla culture by exhibiting relics. There are also many attractions near Bomun Lake, such as Gyeongju World, two teddy bear museums and the Sonje Art Museum. Gyeongju World is an amusement park, it has a Zoo and a water park. lt is a good place to go with family or friends. The Teddy Bear museum is to see the teddy bear designer works, and people can buy a variety of gifts for their lovers or family. In addition, Bomun Lake is a best vacation spot, it has such a the best hotel, aquatic facilities and a walkway. Finally, you shouldn't leave Gyeongju without visiting Bulguksa, the famous Buddhist temple, and Seokgoram Grotto. Bulguksa and Seokgoram is registered as one of world cultural heritages by UNESCO. There are famous remains of Buddhist monks. Also, there are historical heritages such as Dabotop, Yeonwhakyo, Cheongwoonkyo, and Bakwoonkyo in the temple.
